Meet: Sarah

Proving once again that a helping hand and long distance mean nothing when helping others, we would like you to meet, Sarah from Bay Shore, NY., who orchestrated her very own CHOP DROP fundraiser with her softball team, The Lady Owls for Confirmation hours last summer!

Sarah brought her softball team, Carlie, Avery, Sophia, Olivia, Emma, Alyssa, Jen, Mak, Ruby, Myelle, Maris, Juliette, Abbie, Lily, Emmariah, Morgan, Meghan, Mckaylee, Danielle, Erin, Addison and Maddie together to collect for CHOP for part of their summer. CHOP DROP thinks that Sarah and her friends are some pretty special kids! Sarah and her teamates truly demonstrated CHOP DROP's slogan,  "Kids Helping Kids" last summer.

We would like to thank her Mom, Karen for all of the behind the scenes coordinating, and Coach Tonya Mancini-Wyss, Coach Ginny, Coach Steve, thank you for your support!

Thank you all so much for your spirit, tenacity and kind hearts. You are all proof that the future is indeed bright.

CHOP DROP has a special place in their hearts for small businesses who do great things. The kind hearts at Melissa and Doug went above and beyond for the children at CHOP last summer by donating a Melissa and Doug Train Table for the community room along with a piano and countless toys. Their dedication to CHOP DROP has been so appreciated! Special thanks to Melissa and Doug Bernstein and Nick Postlethwaite who along with Learning Express in Blue Bell made this special exchange take place.

Here's a little bit more about Melissa and Doug and their mission and you can check them out by clicking the "try me" button above.

Melissa and Doug Mission:

"Provide a launch pad to ignite imagination and a sense of wonder in all children so they can discover themselves, their passions, and their purpose.

There was a time not so long ago when childhood offered the space and freedom for children to explore their world. To be curious. To be creative. To be bold. To be bored. To just . . . be. Today, our over-scheduled and overstimulated children are using their imaginations less than ever. It’s a crisis in the making. And it’s why we’re committed to making products that inspire open-ended thinking and encourage kids to see new possibilities. It’s part of our bigger vision to Take Back Childhood. Because by giving children a true childhood, we give them a path to realizing their full potential!

What we create

We make toys and other products that offer Countless Ways To Play. We believe the best playthings are often simple concepts that inspire children to come up with their own twists. With everything we create, we hope to encourage."

Meet Lauro Painting

Nick Lauro Professional Painting Services:

CHOP DROP has has the privilege of teaming up with some amazing local businesses!

This past winter CHOP DROP had the opportunity to team up with Lauro Painting. Nick Lauro and his team were looking to give back to the local community and saw the opportunity to make an impact by partnering with CHOP DROP. Lauro Painting ran a promotional event all winter long, allowing CHOP DROP to focus on a busy school year, and thanks to this promotion, we are able to start our summer strong and make this upcoming summer of "Kids Helping Kids" even better. This special promotion also allowed CHOP DROP to connect with many of Lauro Painting's customers and spread the word about our summer giving. We could not be more thankful!

Lauro Painting is a Philadelphia based painting company and you can find out more about them and their services by clicking right here:

Meet:

Trey, Brice, Ashton, Owen, Madden, Alex and Emma

On 9th Street in Ocean City, New Jersey on September 1, 2018 these seven kiddo's and their Mom's got together and set up one epic lemonade stand.

CHOP DROP was so excited to see this amazing group of kids comes together to help other kids. Trey, Brice, Ashton, Owen, Madden, Alex and Emma sure did keep up with CHOP DROP'S slogan "A Summer of Kids Helping Kids."

We couldn't have been more thrilled with their their time and effort, let alone their hefty donation.

Thanks to this group effort among family and friends, CHOP DROP was able to provide meal cards to needy families with children hospitalized at CHOP along with many fun activities and toys.

We are so thankful to these kind, empathic and forward thinking kids! Watch out world, this is our future and it is beautiful!

Meet Joey

35143857_602747193436590_351381824643425

Three summers ago, we met Joey. At the time, Joey was in kindergarten and had decided, upon her own doing, that she did not necessarily "need" presents that year and chose to donate all that she collected at her birthday to the kids at CHOP via CHOP DROP!

We got the chance to meet Joey when we picked up her big bag of loot for the kids at CHOP that she so graciously collected. Joey represents the great kindness, generosity and empathy that so many kids have today. We are so grateful for Joey, because she was the very first "kid to help kids" on her own, for CHOP DROP. Joey's actions inspired many other kids to donate their own birthday items they might not have needed as much, and encouraged other kids to give generously throughout their summers as well.

To show Joey our thanks, we awarded her a lifetime membership to CHOP DROP. Every child who organizes their own collection for CHOP DROP will receive a CHOP DROP membership and signed service hours.

Joey, along with her little sister, Sloane still donate to CHOP DROP every year. We couldn't be more grateful to the Rongione Family for all that they do every summer to give back! Thanks Joey! We think you ROCK.
